The Eagle has landed.

If I really wanted to be on the ball I would have posted this on Dec. 19th, which is when I picked the beast up from West Photo. But I've been busy working on the book- See it, Shoot it, Sell it. I hope to have the book done by March, with seminars to follow in April and May.

At any rate, the Nikon D3X is sitting happily on my desk as I write this. I've played with it a bit and it is amazing in many ways, and surprisingly better than the D300 in terms of image quality, even ignoring the difference in file size. But I really haven't shot anything worth looking at. It's hard to be inspired living in Andover, Minnesota.

One thing about Andover- it's flat and boring here. I'd have to be a genius to shoot a noteworthy photograph here. Of course, I am the Shooterguy. I could do it. I'm seriously thinking about zipping up to the North Shore for a few days, but that seems like something every chump photographer would do right about now. Maybe I'll swim against the tide and go shoot down by the Mississippi.
Stay focused, and stay tuned...

Late but Early

It seems everyone is blogging now,  so I thought it was time to join the party. Well, certainly not everyone I know. Hardly anyone actually, that I'm aware of.  But millions of people do it, I'm just sure! So I'm late to the party. Since I decided to multiply my media impressions in 2009 by about 1000%, January 1st was my self-imposed deadline. So I'm early.

Now that we've established that...

This little forum will be my place to expound on all things photography related, and more. But not a lot more. We're gonna keep it simple here. Visit Sawyergallery.com for my new work. Stay focused.
